I´ve recently purchased the Magellan Explorist 210 at Amazon.com (I paid $135 and asked a friend that happened to travel to bringing it to Israel). It seems to be a good quality device. I really like its file management system - the Explorist manages all the data (routes, tracks, waypoints) as text files. When you plug the GPS to your computer it behaves like a removable disk (like any other standard memory stick), so it´s really easy to copy/paste/delete/rename your files (I work with OziExplorer on my computer, but I know other people work with TurboCD). The navigation functions are easy to use, and so do the buttons. This is my first GPS so I cannot really compare to other brands. I found a great way to attach the GPS to the bike – I don´t use the handlebar mount, it just looks so insecure. Instead, I attached a pouch to my top tube, just behind the stem, and the GPS is enclosed. The pouch has a window so you can see the screen and buttons (I bought a 45 shekel pouch and cut a window in it, but then I found a nice pouch on Amazon for just $10 – I should receive it next week. You can search "gilsson men" in Amazon and you´ll see a picture of the pouch). All in all, I´m happy with this GPS. For this price, you cannot really go wrong. Happy trails. -Didi.
